If you have the correct permissions, you will always be able to simply invoice within ProPlanner. However, there is an “Advanced invoicing” module that offers more options regarding the invoicing of a Contract. Below you can find an overview of the options with and without this extra module:
In the standard version of ProPlanner (without advanced invoicing) you can:
- Invoice up to the end of the Contract: with this, you invoice the entire period immediately. This is the standard method if you have calculated a Contract and invoice without setting specific parameters.
- Invoice up to a specific date: on the Contract, under the parameters in pricing, you can select up to which date you will invoice. The respective Contract will then be invoiced up to and including the chosen date. To this end, ProPlanner will calculate the number of units (days, months, etc.) that have not yet been invoiced up to and including the chosen date.
- E.g.: A Contract runs until 28/04/2021 and we invoice up to 25/11/2020 (see screenshot)

- If the Contract starts on 01/11/2020 and has not yet been invoiced, 25 days will be invoiced.
- If the Contract starts on 10/01/2020 and has not yet been invoiced, 321 days will be invoiced.
- If the Contract starts on 10/01/2020 and has already been invoiced up to 31/10/2020, 25 days will be invoiced.
- E.g.: A Contract runs until 28/04/2021 and we invoice up to 25/11/2020 (see screenshot)
If the "Advanced invoicing" module has been activated, you can
- Invoice up to the end of the Contract: see above
- Invoice up to a specific date: just as on a one-time Contract, but then on all Contracts that qualify according to the set filters.
- Periodic invoicing: If you invoice periodically via the invoicerun screen, the relevant Contracts will be invoiced according to the periodicity set at contract level. On the Contract itself, you will determine what the next invoicing date will be and ProPlanner will automatically apply this when performing the invoicerun. This can be done via the following settings at contract level:
- The duration of a period: here you determine how many months 1 invoicing period covers
- Invoice in advance: here you indicate whether to invoice in advance, and if so, how many periods
- Example 1: invoicing is done monthly, also 1 month in advance

This means that the invoicerun will invoice all not yet invoiced periods from the beginning of the Contract up to and including the period in which the invoicing date falls and 1 extra period.
E.g.:- A Contract starts on 10/01/2020
- The Contract has already been invoiced up to and including 09/03/2021
- We run the invoicerun with invoicing date 30/04/2021
- The result will be that the invoicerun proposes the following invoices:
- An invoice for the period from 10/03/2021 up to and including 09/04/2021
- If the invoice above was created, an invoice for the period from 10/04/2021 up to and including 09/05/2021 (i.e. the current period according to the invoicing date)
- If the invoice above was created, an invoice for the period from 10/05/2021 up to and including 09/06/2021 (i.e. the next period)
- If the invoice above was created, no further invoice proposals will be made.
- Example 2: invoicing is done quarterly, and 2 quarters in advance

This means that the invoicerun will invoice all not yet invoiced periods from the beginning of the Contract up to and including the period in which the invoicing date falls and 1 extra period.
E.g.:- A Contract starts on 10/01/2020
- The Contract has already been invoiced up to and including 09/04/2021
- We run the invoicerun with invoicing date 31/12/2021
- The result will be that the invoicerun proposes the following invoices:
- An invoice for the period from 10/04/2021 up to and including 09/07/2021
- If the invoice above was created, an invoice for the period from 10/07/2021 up to and including 09/10/2021
- If the invoice above was created, an invoice for the period from 10/10/2021 up to and including 09/01/2022 (i.e. the current period according to the invoicing date)
- If the invoice above was created, an invoice for the period from 10/01/2022 up to and including 09/04/2022 (i.e. the next period)
- If the invoice above was created, an invoice for the period from 10/04/2022 up to and including 09/07/2022 (i.e. the second next period according to the invoicing date)
- If the invoice above was created, no further invoice proposals will be made.
- Example 1: invoicing is done monthly, also 1 month in advance
Of course, there will never be invoicing beyond the end date of the Contract.
